And yet, why four? We could have grouped them as one damager. These four correspond to four evil damaging spiritual forces. And since creation uses symmetry, they correspond to powerful good forces. They are Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David.
Isaac represents strength; this is the ox on the left side of the Throne of Glory.
Abraham is a "pit of clear live water" with his teachings.
Fire is David, who is a fighting king. And the "man" is Jacob, representing beauty, whose face also was on the Throne of Glory.
