But can we really make this deduction from the words of Laban and Bethuel, who were not exceedingly righteous? One view is that the words "this thing is from God" were said by Heavenly voice, which interjected, and then Laban and Bethuel continued.
Another explanation is that "this thing came" means that it came from Mount Moriah. Yitchak had a female nature, and as such, he could not have a proper couple. On Mound Moriah, his soul left; then it came back as a male. That is why initially it says, "And to Sarah, there was a son," but now it is, "and she (Rivka) will be a wife to the son or your master."
